PRIVACY POLICY

1. Who we are
Tasty Shreds (the “App”) is operated by Tasty Software LLC, an Idaho limited liability company (“we,” “us,” “our”). You can reach us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] or [BUSINESS MAILING ADDRESS].
This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what control you have. It applies to the App, our website at [DOMAIN], and related services.
2. Age requirement
The App is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will close the account and delete the associated data. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL].
Where an app store provides us an age signal or age-category indication, we use it solely to enforce this age requirement, we do not use it for advertising or personalization, we transmit it securely, and we delete it once the check is complete.
3. What we collect
You give us directly:
- Account information: email address, password (stored only as a salted hash — we never see or store your actual password)
- Profile and goal information: age, height, current weight, goal weight, biological sex, activity level, and your dietary goals
- Health and wellness information you log: food entries, meals, recipes cooked, macronutrient totals, weigh-ins over time, and any notes you add
- Foods you submit to our shared database
- Support correspondence
We collect automatically:
- Device and app information: device type, operating system version, app version, language, and time zone
- Usage information: screens viewed, features used, session timing, and crash and error reports
- Approximate location derived from IP address (country and region level). We do not collect precise or continuous GPS location.
We receive from others:
- Subscription and payment status from Apple, Google, and our payment processor. We never receive or store your full card number, bank details, or app-store credentials.
We do not collect: contacts, photos or camera roll (the barcode scanner processes the camera feed on your device and transmits only the barcode number), microphone audio, precise location, or health data from Apple Health or Google Fit.
4. Your health and wellness data
We treat what you log about your body and your eating as sensitive, and we hold it to a higher standard than the rest of your account data.
- We do not sell it. We have never sold it, and we will not sell it.
- We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, analytics networks, or social platforms.
- We do not use it for advertising or ad targeting of any kind, on or off the App.
- We use it only to run the features you asked for: showing your diary, calculating your totals against your goals, charting your progress, and improving the App’s accuracy.
- Our analytics tooling receives usage events (for example, “user logged a food”) but not the contents of your diary, your weight, or your goal numbers.
- Access inside the company is limited to the people who need it to operate the service and provide support.
If you delete your account, this data is deleted. See Section 9.
5. How we use your information
- To create and operate your account
- To calculate calorie and macronutrient targets, and to show your progress
- To provide recipes, search, barcode lookup, and food logging
- To process and manage your subscription
- To provide customer support
- To improve the App — diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and understand which features get used
- To improve our shared food database, including reviewing user-submitted foods
- To detect fraud and abuse, and to keep the service secure
- To send you service messages about your account, and — only if you opt in — product news
We do not use your information to train third-party machine learning models, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
6. Who we share information with
We share only with service providers who need it to run the App, under contracts that limit them to our instructions:
| Provider | Purpose | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
[HOSTING/DATABASE PROVIDER] | Hosting, database, authentication | Account and app data |
[PAYMENT PROCESSOR] | Web subscription payments | Email, billing details you enter with them |
| Apple / Google | In-app subscription billing | Handled entirely by them under their own privacy policies |
[SUBSCRIPTION MANAGEMENT] | Cross-platform entitlement | Account identifier, subscription status |
[ERROR MONITORING] | Crash and error reporting | Device and error information |
[PRODUCT ANALYTICS] | Usage analytics | Pseudonymous usage events — not diary contents |
[EMAIL PROVIDER] | Transactional email | Email address |
We may also disclose information if legally required, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of the business — in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy, and your health data will remain subject to the commitments in Section 4.
We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Foods you submit to the shared database
When you add a food that isn’t in our database, the nutrition information you enter may be reviewed and added to the shared database so other users can find it. Only the food information is shared — never your name, your account, or anything about your diary. Don’t submit anything in a food name or note that you wouldn’t want public.
8. How long we keep information
We keep your account data while your account is active, and for [RETENTION PERIOD — e.g., 30 days] after deletion to allow recovery from accidental deletion, after which it is permanently removed. Backups are purged on a rolling [BACKUP RETENTION] cycle. We keep records we’re legally required to keep — such as billing and tax records — for as long as the law requires.
9. Your choices and rights
Everyone, regardless of where you live, can:
- Access your data and request an export
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete your account and your data — you can do this yourself from within the App at
[SETTINGS PATH], without contacting us - Opt out of marketing email at any time
- Withdraw consent to processing of your health data
We will never charge you or degrade your service for exercising any of these rights.
Depending on your state, you may have additional rights — including the right to know what we’ve collected, the right to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), the right to limit use of sensitive personal information, and the right to appeal a decision. To exercise any of these, use the in-app controls or email [SUPPORT EMAIL]. We respond within [45] days.
[ATTORNEY: a standalone Washington My Health My Data consumer health data privacy notice is required in addition to this policy, along with a separate consent flow for collection and any sharing of consumer health data, and a documented right-to-withdraw mechanism. This section is not a substitute for that.]
10. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, hashed passwords, row-level database access controls, and limited internal access. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security — but if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law and tell you plainly what happened.
11. Where your information is processed
We operate in the United States and the App is currently offered only in the United States. Your information is stored and processed in the U.S.
12. Changes
If we make a material change, we’ll notify you in the App or by email before it takes effect. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
